Project Impact

We created a modular visual identity system for the Breakthrough Energy Summit that brought together 1,500+ global climate leaders, investors, and policymakers. The flexible brand system successfully scaled across the three-day event at Tobacco Dock in London, creating a cohesive experience that united innovators across electricity, manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and building sectors.

Challenge

The Summit needed a visual identity that could evolve year after year while maintaining brand consistency. The challenge intensified as brand development overlapped with event preparation, requiring tight coordination between the in-house Breakthrough Energy team and international agency partners across different time zones. Balancing diverse stakeholder needs—from content creators to event producers—while making unified design decisions added complexity to an already compressed timeline.

Approach

I led creative direction, coordination, and execution from RFP through launch, working closely with Lucas Fleischer, Head of Content and Creative, to ensure the identity aligned with Breakthrough Energy's broader mission. I managed collaboration between the in-house team, Metric (Oslo) for core visual identity development, and Øyedrops for motion design. The system featured session-specific color coding and a timestamped logo that could be updated annually, creating both flexibility and continuity. Deliverables included brand system, logo, typography, color palette, and motion design applied across print, digital, and environmental graphics.
